What is XB Champions Football Manager?
XB Champions Football Manager is a way for those passionate football buffs to cross their wits against one another to test their managerial abilities. This edition is set to run for the entire length of the European Champions League from the Group stages onwards.
The managers (participants) pick players and include them in their own personalized team with the budget alloted to them. The performance of these players in the real games during the Champions League determine the points the selector gets -- the better a player performs, the more points one accumulates. The highest scoring manager will be crowned as the Champion Manager and would win fabulous prizes.
Selecting your Champion team
- You are required to have 11 players on your team. Your team can play in any of the following formations: 5-3-2, 4-4-2, 4-5-1, 5-4-1, 3-4-3, 4-3-3, 3-5-2 which means a minimum a goalkeeper, 3 defenders, 3 midfielders and 1 striker are mandatory. The remaining 3 players would make up your preferred formation.
- Every player has a cost at which he can be bought and the prices are set based on their current ability and performances (150 max. per player) and the total no. of points for the 11 players you select should not cross 1300.
- You are allowed 4 substitutions every week of the group stage and 8 substitutions for every knockout stages and 4 for the finals, so select players carefully as per the matches scheduled. Subs cannot be carried over to the next level.You can do as many changes as you want before the tournament starts, even though it will show as if your subs are reducing, nothing to worry, they will be reset just before the first match starts
- You can select a team at any stage of the championship, but you have more chances of leading the points table, if you join in from the first match.
- Substitutions may be chosen at any time. However, all player substitutions are effected at 23.00 hours IST. Substitutions made after that will be effected on the subsequent day.
- In case any player is forced to exit the Championship due to Injury, Doping or otherwise, the player who replaces him in the squad will automatically be included in your team.
- Once you have selected your team, the player's name and picture will be visible in ‘My Team’ link in that page. Substitutions can be made using the ‘Substitutions’ link. Once selected, ‘Substitutions’ page will display your substitutions waiting to be effected. ‘Leaders’ link will show you the points scored by all participating members. After every match, organizers will give points to each player that played the match calculated using the benchmarks given below.

So if you have selected Cristiano Ronaldo, and he starts a match scoring an assist and a goal & concedes 2 then Points earned = 2 + 3 + 8 + 2*(-1) = 11 points.

In the event of a tie, following criteria will be applied one after the other to determine ranking
- Team with lower player points on that day.
- Team with higher score excluding Bonus points from start of Tournament.
If a tie still cannot be resolved, prizes will be shared among those tied for the same spot. In case of any dispute, organizers will have the final say.
